Juvederm and Restylane

How are dermal fillers used?

Dermal fillers are injected under the skin to add volume to fill in wrinkles, lines and creases, to plump up lips and to add lift to sunken areas like hollowed-out cheeks.

How do Restylane and Juvederm work?

Both Restylane and Juvederm use gels derived from hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the skin and helps skin retain plenty of moisture. As we age, our bodies produce less hyaluronic acid, so skin no longer looks firm and plump. The hyaluronic acid in both Restylane and Juvederm supplements the body's natural production to help skin retain moisture and appear more firm over time. Plus, the stable gel formulations help fill in creases and depressions for immediate results. And finally, fillers like Juvederm and Restylane work by stimulating the body's production of collagen, one of the building blocks of youthful, healthy-looking skin, so results last and last.

Where are Restylane and Juvederm used?

Restylane and Juvederm can be used to fill in wrinkles and creases on the face, including nasolabial folds (the lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth), marionette lines (creases from the mouth to the chin), to add fullness to sunken cheeks, to fill in tiny wrinkles around the mouth and to plump up lips so they look fuller. Some newer formulations can even be used on the hands to help replace lost volume and help hands look younger.

Can I use fillers and BOTOX together?

Absolutely; in fact, fillers and BOTOX treat different types of wrinkles, and using them together can help you get the effects of a “mini-facelift,” helping your skin look smoother and more rejuvenated.

How long do these fillers last?

Both Juvederm and Restylane can last for more than a year, and even longer with minor "touch-up" treatments.
